Meet the Therapist

Carrie

Carrie has been a veterinary technician for over 18 years, and has been certified since 2011. She attended Becker College, where she obtained her bachelor of science in veterinary science, and her associate of science in veterinary technology, in 2011.
Carrie started her career with animals at a boarding kennel; and then at a veterinary practice, both in midcoast Maine. She chose to relocate following college, and advanced her skills in the ICU at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists, which resides in Rhode Island, for nearly a decade.
In 2014, her first dog, Holly, was suffering from a shoulder injury. Carrie took Holly to a rehabilitation facility, where she first learned how beneficial non-medicinal care was for veterinary patients. Shortly after, she completed the University of Tennessee’s Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program.
Carrie completed an internship at a rehabilitation facility in Northborough, Massachusetts, where she learned how manual therapy and massage are a necessity to any rehab program. She wanted to advance her experience with hands-on therapy, so she completed the Certified Canine Myo-manipulative Functional Therapist Course offered by Holistic Animal Studies.

Carrie currently resides in the beautiful Woodstock, Connecticut. She works full time at the Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Tufts University as a veterinary technician in the neurology department. She has a husband named John (who is a physical therapist!), 2 dogs named Milton and Vega, and 3 cats named Benny, Phantom, and regretfully Darbie. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys lifting heavy weights, going for hikes with her dogs (that are too long for her husband), shopping on Amazon, and enjoys decorating and designing her very cozy home.

For the safety of her patients, Carrie is RECOVER certified and is a Fear Free Practitioner (Level 3).
